  • What is PinpointMed?
  • PinpointMed is an innovative software platform for locating senior living and post-acute care providers. Our mission is to streamline our users’ search for care by providing tools for quicker information, instant collaboration, and optimized search results.
  • I have a feature I’d like to see on PinpointMed. Will you add it?
  • We welcome all feedback suggesting new features to be added to PinpointMed! We genuinely want to maintain a Search platform that is loved by its Users and makes their digital experience easy and efficient. To suggest a feature, go to the bottom of any company’s profile page and click the button “Suggest a Feature”. Fill out the information on the pop-up window and submit.

Community:

  • I’m new to PinpointMed. How do I search for care Providers?
  • You can begin searching for care providers instantly by entering your search criteria in the Destination, Facility Type, and Insurance bars. You can further customize your search by clicking the Click to Select button. This will allow you to choose different services and amenities that are of interest to you.
  • You may also start a search by click in the main Search field at the top of the webpage. Different types of care providers will automatically pop up and you may then select one. You may then enter any other search criteria you may have such as Destination, Insurance, or Services.
  • If you already have a specific care provider that you are interested in and would like to see their profile, you may type that name of that provider in the Search field at the top of the webpage. As you type the name, our system will pull of care providers that match.
  • Can I search without an account?
  • Absolutely.
  • Do I have to pay to search?
  • No. Searching for care on PinpointMed is free.
  • How do I save my favorite care providers?
  • For our system to save your unique preferences, it will require creating a personal account. That way whenever you log into PinpointMed, we will have all your favorite providers stored for you. Once you create an account, you can click on the star located at the top right of a provider’s profile. This will Save that provider for you.
  • Can I share my favorite care providers with my loved ones?
  • Absolutely. There are a couple ways to do this. If you would like to share only one favorite, click the Share button at the top right of that care provider’s profile page.
  • Fill out the requested information in the pop-up window and send. To share multiple care providers, first click the star button in the top right corner of their profile page. This will save them as a Favorite. Once you have all your Favorites, click the Share button located about the Search criteria fields. Fill out the information in the pop-up window and send.
  • I’d like to perform multiple searches. Can I save specific search results for later?
  • Absolutely. Once you have entered specific search criteria and have a list of results, click the Star button above the search criteria fields. This specific search is now Saved. To see all your Saved searches, click the My Searches button at the top of the webpage.
  • I don’t know what level of care I need. How do I get started?
  • Go to our drop down Menu at the top left of the webpage. Click on the Glossary tab. Here you can find out a little more about the different levels of care searchable on PinpointMed.
  • What does it mean when a care provider has multiple colored pins in their profile?
  • Many facilities or agencies offer multiple levels of care services. Each colored pin represents what that company offers at that location.
  • I don’t see my business. How do I create a provider profile?
  • Start by clicking the drop down menu in the top left hand corner of the webpage. Click the Contact Us button. Fill out the requested information and in the message box, let us know about your company. Once we verify the information, we will have a profile set up for you and give you access to maintain that profile.
  • Do you charge referral fees if I get a lead from your software?
  • Absolutely not. Our business model does not involve referral fees. Being listed on the PinpointMed platform is free in our Basic plan. We offer advanced tools as part of our Plus and Premium plans. You may market your company and receive unlimited consumer leads utilizing the tools in the PinpointMed service plan of your choice.
  • I’m interested in your advanced tools. How can I review your pricing?
  • Click the drop down menu at the top left hand corner of your screen. Click on the Plans and Pricing option.
  • How do I know if consumers are clicking on my company’s profile?
  • We offer tracking and analytics as one of the tools including in our Plus service plan. Once you have our Plus service plan, go to your company’s administration page and click on the Summary tab. You will see the number of “Facility Views”, as well as other statistics under Activity Reports.
  • My company’s profile has incorrect information. How do I change it?
  • At the bottom of your company’s profile, there is a "Claim this Business" button. Click that button and fill out the information requested on the pop-up screen, once we validate your information, we will give you access to your company’s administration page where you can make all updates as needed.

Home Care Assistance with Activities of Daliy Living (ADLs) and custodial needs provided to you in your home.

  • Type of Services: Non-Medical
  • Case is Provided: In your home
  • Forms of Payment: All types, but acceptance varies depending on the agency
  • Alternative Payment: Some Home Care services may be payable through VA benefits of Medicaid
  • Physican's Order: Typically not needed.

Home Health Skilled medical services provided to you in yourfac home.

  • Type of Services: Medical
  • Case is Provided: In your home
  • Forms of Payment: All types, but acceptance varies depending on the agency
  • Physican's Order: Needed.
  • Care Consideration: Some Home Health agencies may also provide Home Care, Palliative care, and Hospice care services.
HSP

Palliative Palliative care is an approach that aims at optimizing the quality of life for those with debilitating conditions.

  • Type of Services: Medical
  • Case is Provided: In your home, or at an outpatient clinic
  • Forms of Payment: May covered by Medicare, Medicaid, VA benefits, or Private Insurance, but coverage varies.
  • Physican's Order: Typically needed.
  • Care Consideration: Palliative care that is done your home is typically provided by a Hospice/Palliative care agency or Home Health agency.
HSP

Hospice Hospice is not a physical place, but rather a philosophy of care. It is designed to alleviate pain and symptoms rather than to prolong the life of a terminally ill patient. Hospice patients are generally considered having six months or less to live.

  • Type of Services: Medical
  • Case is Provided: In your home, at a hospice facility, or as an in-patient in a hospital
  • Forms of Payment: Typically covered by Medicare, Medicaid, VA benefits, or Private Insurance.
  • Physican's Order: Needed.
  • Care Consideration: Some Hospice care agencies may also provide Home Care, Home Health, or Palliative care services.
IL

Independent Living Generally provide an environment for residents to live independently, but still have the conveniences of living in a community. Housekeeping and meal preparation may be available, but services and amenities vary depending on the facility.

  • Type of Services: Non-medical
  • Forms of Payment: Private Pay or Long-term Care Insurance.
  • Physican's Order: Typically not needed .
AL

Assisted Living Generally provide community style living with the addition of services for residents that need assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). Housekeeping and meal preparation are typically available, but services and amenities vary depending on the facility.

  • Type of Services: Non-medical
  • Forms of Payment: Private Pay or Long-term Care Insurance.
  • Alternative Payment: Some Assisted Living costs may be payable through VA benefits or Medicaid
  • Physican's Order: Typically not needed.
  • Care Consideration: If a resident needs temporary medical services, it may be possible to hire a Home Health agency to come in and provide those services.
SNF

Skilled Nursing Facility Generally provide community style living with the addition of services for residents that need assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). Housekeeping and meal preparation are typically available, but services and amenities vary depending on the facility.

  • Type of Services: Medical
  • Forms of Payment: All types, but acceptance varies depending on the facility.
  • Alternative Payment: Some Assisted Living costs may be payable through VA benefits or Medicaid
  • Physican's Order: Needed.
  • Care Consideration: You generally need to have had a minimum 3 day hospital stay before your insurance will approve coverage of any Skilled Nursing Facility services.
BH

Behavioral Health The connection between behaviors and the health of an individual. This includes mental healthcare, psychiatric care, marriage and family counseling, and substance abuse treatment. *PinpointMed Behavioral Health searches currently include care providers with services for substance abuse treatment.

MC

Memory Care Memory Care is specialized care for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or other forms of memory loss. Senior Living Facilities that offer Memory Care typically monitor its residents closely and provide a safe and secure environment.
